From Hustling at 10 to Building Businesses: Why I Created WebStar Agency
I’m Chris Shannon from Colorado Springs, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been finding ways to make things work on my own terms.
At just 10 years old, I figured out a way to turn chores into a business. My parents agreed to pay me per task completed, and I nearly bankrupted them by keeping the house squeaky clean every day—all to make payments on my dirt bike.
By 14, my work ethic and obsession with dirt bike racing had only grown. To keep funding my passion, I was:
✔ Splitting firewood and selling it for cash
✔ Baling hay for ranchers in exchange for work
✔ Selling Jeep lift kits online—one of my first ventures into e-commerce
Fast forward 13 years, and I put that same entrepreneurial drive into starting my first official business: ThriveStar Remodeling, a general contracting company focused on high-quality home renovations.
Then, just three years later, my wife and I opened our first dental practice, Practice 32. That experience forced me to deal with something that had frustrated me for years—marketing companies that overpromise, underdeliver, and price their services based on nonsense.
